Release Notes for the following areas are included in this article:

General Enhancements

Release Tracks

Based on feedback we have opted to keep the existing Current and Deferred Release Tracks terminology, as well as the default behavior. You can learn more about the Current and Deferred Release tracks here: Product Release Tracks - Current and Deferred - video

Rebranding

  • FluenceXL Reporting has been renamed to Anaplan XL Reporting.
  • The Consolidation portal, out-of-box reports and Anaplan XL  Reporting Add-in have been rebranded.

Legacy Administration Forms

Legacy Excel based administration forms (previously located in Fluence Explorer under Consolidation\Maintenance) have been discontinued. Web Editors are available for all maintenance forms within the Maintain module. Role authorization for this must be enabled.

Consolidation Enhancements

Export/Import for business rules

Export and import capabilities have been introduced for all business rules, excluding Ownership and Direct Percentage. This encompasses various rules such as Conversion, Calculation, Allocation, Multi-Dimensional Calculations, Intercompany Matching, Intercompany Booking, Validations, Rollover, and more.

These features enable administrators to easily edit and migrate rules between tenants.

The capabilities of this feature include:

  • Bulk export of consolidation rules to a CSV file, capturing all rule headers and details.

  • Bulk import of consolidation rules from a CSV file, encompassing all rule headers and details.

  • Export of specific rule details to a CSV file.

  • Import of specific rule details from a CSV file.

You can import rules in two ways: either by replacing all existing rules in the system or by appending them to the current rules. Supported file delimiters include comma, semicolon, and pipe.

Activating/Deactivating Business Rules

You can now activate or deactivate business rules across the following categories:

  • Calculation Multi

  • Allocations

  • Other Dimensions

  • Calculation Rules

  • Account Netting

  • Conversion Rules
  • Rates

  • Intercompany Matching

  • Equity Pickup

  • Rollover Rules

  • Validation Rules

Activating or deactivating these business rules enables administrators to quickly toggle rules on and off, facilitating debugging or managing unused rules.

System Tags Editor

A new System Tags editor has been introduced, enabling you to manage all system tags within your application from a centralized screen. This feature allows administrators to configure all necessary tags for the Consolidation application without the need to navigate through each dimension within metadata management.

New Out of Box Web Reports

Intercompany Matching Report

A new Intercompany Matching report is now available which features various sorting options for better alignment of trading partner data. This report can run in various modes:

  • Report - This standard mode displays transactions categorized by Entity and Account.

  • By Account - This view presents each intercompany rule applicable to all Entities. For instance, it allows you to check if the cost of sales is balanced across all Entities.

  • Sort by Couple - Similar to Unify, this option does not group transactions but instead stacks them in the report. For example, a receivable transaction between Entity A and Entity B will be placed above the corresponding payable transaction between Entity B and Entity A.

Health Check Report

A new System Health Check report is now available that allows you to scan your Consolidation application for invalid setup such as missing dimension roles or default input and reporting members.

Cash Flow Detail Report

The Cash Flow Detail report is now accessible in Anaplan XL format through the portal. This report enables you to review your cash flow accounts and the associated source Balance Sheet Accounts.

The filters have been enhanced by incorporating additional dimensions, including Audit, Dataview, and Intercompany members.

Multi-Dimensional Calculation Enhancements

Significant enhancements have been implemented for multi-dimensional calculations, which include:

  • Improved performance
  • Introduction of a new Calculation Type (@Type) parameter to facilitate the grouping of calculations at runtime

  • Addition of a new Delete parameter (@Delete) to determine if the target area should be cleared prior to recalculation

  • Updates to guarantee that calculation execution occurs only on specified model

Note: in order to use the @Type and @Delete parameters, fl.CalculationMulti must be called directly from a workflow process. @Delete has a type of True or False (1 or 0) and @Type is a String.

Other Dimension Rule Enhancement

Other Dimension rules have been refined for easier setup, allowing users to specify all dimension members on a single line. This improvement simplifies the configuration process and enables the definition of multiple dimensions within a single rule. Other dimensions can be utilized in Consolidation Rules, Validation Rules, or Intercompany Rules to restrict the scope of a rule's application.

Note: When multiple members are necessary within a dimension, a tag must be used instead of individual member names in the rule. This tag can then be applied to all required members.

Reverse Audit Calculation

A new Reverse Audit procedure has been introduced, allowing for the reversal of values in a designated audit member. To utilize this feature, a new reverse property has been added to the audit dimension. When this property is applied to an audit member with the value of another audit member, the value of that referenced audit member will be reversed and assigned to the specified member.

Additional Tag Support

Tag support has been incorporated into the Calculation Rules and Tax Rules administration editors.

Platform Enhancements

Journal Entries

A new Journal Entry Audit Summary is available. The Journal Audit Summary provides a log of user activities that have affected the selected journal entries (JEs), including editing, posting, unposting, and deleting JEs. It displays the date and UTC time that the most recent change to a journal entry was made, the user who made the changes, the current status of the journal entry, the original creator of the JE and when it was created. Each line also displays the journal entry’s corresponding dimensions and values.

The Journal Audit Summary can be found within the Journals module by clicking on the Journal Audit Summary icon.

Note:
To view the Journal Audit Summary, users must have the role authorization Journal Entries > View under the Journals section of the Role Authorizations. This permission is initially off by default.

Hierarchy Manager

Navigation

The initial state of the Hierarchy Manager has been updated to show the hierarchy expanded one-level by default. Upon opening the Hierarchy Manager for any dimension, the hierarchy tree will be displayed with one-level expanded. Previously, the hierarchy tree was displayed with all levels expanded. This new behavior allows you to navigate to a member or branch quickly.

Shared Members

Shared members are now easily identified in the Hierarchy Manager with an arrow indicator. When a member becomes a shared member through Copy and Paste as Shared action:

  • The source base member is depicted with a leaf and a "sharing" arrow
  • The cloned shared member is depicted with a double or "cloned" leaf and arrow
  • The name of the source base member is displayed as a property for cloned shared members to easily identify their source

To prevent errors, deleting base members is disallowed if the base member still has shared members linked to it.

The Process Log for For Each tasks now displays the specific (bursted) member name alongside the task name.
